Remembering Rex Belshaw, born July 18, 1968, passed June 15, 2012 — a poem for our son from his loving mother and father on the anniversary of his passing.

Rex Belshaw

Rex Belshaw

A little while … Fill not your heart with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow … Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I’ve only gone to rest a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am, but as I used to be. Because I will remember you all and look on with a smile, understand in your hearts I’ve only gone to rest a little while.

Survivors include his loving parents Leon and Beverly; devoted siblings Jim McLaughlin (Lori), Barry McLaughlin (Anna), Dorothy Ochsner, Deena Rohrback (John) and Dana Polfliet (Jason); and fiancée Ann Mari Gantenbien.

Barbara Ristedt obituaryBarbara Jean Ristedt, born Aug. 27, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to the late Henry P. Ristedt and Barbara A. Thayer, and died peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer on the 28th of May at the Ebeid hospice facility in Sylvania, Ohio.

Barb raised her family in Washington state, working in the dental industry for many years. She finished her career working for Verizon Wireless/Real.com as a leasing manager for cellular tower sites and store locations in Bellevue. After her final cancer diagnosis five years ago, she relocated to Ohio to be near her grandchildren.

Barb took great joy in working in the garden and tending to her flower beds, spreading a special mulch that smelled of fresh chocolate, and growing fresh mint for her ice tea. She also enjoyed decorating her home, changing things on a weekly basis, much to the chagrin of her children who were often asked to help move this or that. Barb always had a smile on her face and was quick to compliment, even when dealing with her final illness. Read more
